- Kcwhippet - 01-01-2010 Got this from one of the wineries we visited down here a few days ago. Winery name comes from the Rhodesian Ridgebacks the winery owners have. They make this wine from juice they get from a company in British Columbia which in turn gets it from somewhere else (I forget exactly where). Had this with cheeses, pate and a baguette before the bubblies. - TheEngineer - 01-01-2010 Great ta hear from you KC, so where is the wine officially from? BC VQA? - Kcwhippet - 01-02-2010 Don't really know, Eng. They get their juice from BC and Niagara in Canada, Napa and the Finger Lakes in the US and from Italy. The only specifics I recall is that they get some of the juice from Fulkerson Winery - across the street from Glenora. None of the wines they make are labelled as to where the juice is from. - Thomas - 01-02-2010 KC and Eng, This subject is causing a big fight in the Canadian wine industry. The rules for this sort of stuff are too lax for small wineries to accept and not lax enough for the big guys! |
