13.5% alcohol
Pungent nose bordering on ammonia scent. On the palate, close to vinegary such as an apple cider vinegar. Not unpleasant, but I found it less appealing than the Nobilo Sauvignon Blanc Regional Collection or the Crossings from New Zealand that I had recently. Somewhat better on the second night. I paired it with a baked chicken in wine sauce with artichoke bottoms and mushrooms and sage and thyme seasoning (and some lemon rind). I used some of the same wine in the sauce and it turned out well.

I've generally found the BV Coastal wines to be a bit too pedestrian for my taste. I've tried them every so often over the years and not found them to be anything special. Well made and true to variety (varietal?) but not exciting.

Yes, this wasn't a particularly interesting wine. I've had the same reaction in the past to some Robert Mondavi Private Selection wines (grapes sourced from Central and Northern Coast) where the label seems to promise more than it delivers.
