What, stylistically and all, is a Christmas port?

Saw a Dow's Christmas Porto and got curious.

IMHO, basically a cheap ruby port with mulled spices added.

Yep, I think Drew's got it right.

I got a chance to talk to the wine steward at the store that has it (I'm usually only in there at 5 in the morning). He said it is a special label release by Dow. He said its their Tawny port and all the profits from the sales of that bottle go to charity.

I've had both ruby and tawny in the Christmas versions and havn't had one that I care for. Most can be had for &10-$20 a bottle. Looks like you'll have to grab one and post some notes!

Barnsey, I wanna know (in WW terms) what kinda jernt you're visiting at 5 am that has a wine steward? We have a bunch of corner "stores" in our fair city that open for "customers" at 5am and they don't care if you call them "wine stewards" or "bartenders"....."Hey wine steward, gimme my Pabst with a xmas port chaser!" Its a 24 hour grocery store. We have a lot of grocery stores in this area with stewards. Of course, he isn't ever in there at 5 in the morning.

A 24 hour grocery store with a wine steward, yea right....I frequent a 24 hour restaurant with several waiters and a chef that's great! The 7-11 at Harford & Moravia Roads with Summi at the helm turns out the best 2 fer $1 tube steaks you'll ever have.

Sorry, Drew...

This isn't backwoods known as the east coast

We're progressive out here. Several of the larger chains keep open 24 hours and have stewards during the normal hours. Haggen's is the store if you must know.

I intend not to dignify the comment with a response--now, should I or should I not install electricity in the outhouse?
