2000 Tobin James, Late Harvest Merlot, James Gang Reserve ($18 375 ml). Came with the Spring '02 shipment. A very nice sticky. No resemblance to your everyday merlot. Served ice cold with fudgey chocolate cake; it was simply wonderful.

Another of these turned up in the Spring '03 shipment as well. It was a welcome surprise, and the TJ folks said it was tasting perfectly, but had just enough left to send to club members. One of the advantages of membership!

When one of our daughters called and said she and her wine drinking friend would be arriving late last Friday night, we iced this baby down while waiting for them. When they got here, we popped it, finishing it around 2:15 Saturday morning. Now Mother wants more. Sorry.

Agree in spades there IK. This is a beautifully crafted RED late harvest that makes a great paiting with Roquerfort drizzeled in OO and a dash of fresh minced basil. Kick-Patootie on baguettes of
Sour Dough. ww
