Amen. If anyone is saying this law is just reinforcing current laws already in the books, they should just be enforcing those laws to begin with. Trying to say that this will have no effect on wine consumers sounds extraordinarily disingenuous. “No, nothing’s wrong over here, stop paying attention to this potential law and you’ll be fine, promise.” Who are they kidding?

Nice round up of the impact of H.R. 5034. Whether this bill moves from simply being introduced to having a hearing in the Judiciary committee is the next big questions.

However, we do know what effect the bill has already had: More the 7,000 letters set to congress people from the Free the Grapes site and 7,000 Fans of STOP HR 5034. Both are very impressive.
